For the first time, with regard to many of our reviews it is difficult to know where to start in expressing how wonderful this hotel is towards all its guests. It is an absolutely marvellous building, with an exceptional interior and fascinating history. The staff at the hotel in all respects treated us as their long lost relatives. We were made to feel completely at ease from the very moment of our arrival to our departure. Our only regret is that we stayed one night. This will be rectified because we will return. On our arrival we have a problem with our hire car which had developed an oil leak. Normally, this would involve some frustration and difficulty on the part of any guest especially as we were travelling to France for a wedding. However, the reception staff simply took over the whole issue, solved it and we had no anxiety whatsoever. They had no need to do so, it was potentially quite complex but they took on the task with absolute confidence. In fact, our car was replaced the next morning and they helped with the translation of the contractual documents etc. The staff and in particular Nuria and Ana are sublimely kind and efficient. This is a truly exceptional hotel. We occupied Room 2 which is beautiful (wonderful bathroom) with a marble fireplace, stucco ceiling and French Windows leading to a large balcony overlooking the countryside. We dined at the hotel in one of the most classically beautiful dining rooms we have experienced with elegant furniture and very tasteful art on the walls. It was also an exceptional dining experience. We had the tasting menu and it was sublime This was also the case in relation to breakfast which was so different, delicately prepared with local produce and superbly presented. You have to go there in order to experience it. We have no niggles or adverse comments. Everything is perfection. We would strongly recommend it for a relaxed stay when all the cares of ordinary life can be swept away. We cannot speak highly enough of it. We would love to return.
